MARK XTC – NICE ONE!
Saturday 8 November 8PM – 1AM
The Legion, Marsden
We’re massively excited to be bringing a genuine legend to the Colne Valley!
Mark XTC’s journey is incredible—he’s essentially lived through and help shape the evolution of rave culture, from the late 80s up to today. Starting so young, he quickly became a part of the scene, winning the North West DMC DJ Championships and making an impact in the early days of rave. The track “Take Me Away” with The Mix Factory really helped push the genre forward, marking a key moment in the UK rave scene and even reaching the American charts.
The birth of Da Intalex in the 90s was another defining chapter, where Mark and his partner Marcus Intalex took drum & bass worldwide. His ability to seamlessly mix house, hip hop, jungle, and DnB—playing at legendary spots like Helter Skelter, Dreamscape, and The Hacienda.
His radio career is just as impressive, having graced stations like Kiss and Galaxy, and later founding Intalex Recordings. His iconic track “What You Gonna Do” being voted into the All-Time Top Ten DnB Tunes speaks volumes about his influence. Plus, his work with Dread, Penny Black, Moving Shadow, and major labels like Warner Bros shows just how deep his reach in the industry goes. With a career spanning decades, including playing festivals like Glastonbury, Parklife, and Warehouse Project, as well as an ongoing radio show on Kool FM, Mark has firmly established himself as a true legend in the dance music world. His longevity and ability to still push boundaries, especially with his work on the Gorillaz track “Raving in the Studio” and collaborations with names like Bou, Aitch and Jasmine Knight, show that he’s not just a part of history but still very much shaping the future of dance music
